DAY 3 OF 40

GRACE TO THE HUMBLE

An abundance of grace flowing in and through a Christian's life is evidence of God dwelling with the contrite and humble. Yes! God is close to the broken-hearted. He draws near to the humble but is against the proud and the boastful. The One who inhabits eternity promises to revive the spirit of the lowly, and to revive the heart of the contrite. Wisdom, honor and life follow a life of humility.

No one is perfect. We all have sinned. But what makes us beloved to God is our willingness to accept our sinful condition and return to Him. David was a man after God's own heart, not because he was perfect but because he was humble enough to confess his sins and cry out for God's mercy. This is what the church needs to do today. 'For if my people who are called by name will humble themselves and pray, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and I will heal your land.'(2Chr7:14)

Jesus is the epitome of humility. He humbled himself to the extent of death on a cross. He did it not for himself but for the sake of the world in obedience to the Father's will. He did not fight for his equality, his position, his rights but willingly laid down his life for us. And we are called to have that same attitude in our relationships with one another. Are we willing to humble ourselves to forgive someone even if we have been wronged? Can we in humility consider others more significant than ourselves?

God is looking for instruments of humility that he can use for His kingdom. Moses whom God used to deliver a nation from the yoke of slavery was a humble man in the eyes of God, though he was imperfect in his life. God seeks for us to humble ourselves and return to Him despite our limitations, weaknesses, hurtful past, disappointments and our present sinful condition. God will surely hear us and heal us!

The CHALLENGE to Change:

Pride is an abomination to the Lord. Which are the areas of my life I need to work on humbling. Proud of my looks? Ideas? Work? Wealth? Abilities? Remind yourself that without God we are nothing and can do nothing.

About this Plan

Got Change?

We keep talking about change, how much this world needs it. True change is not brought about by the formation of new laws, rather by the transformation of each one’s life. You will find in this Plan a reminder for each day of an area we need to change in and grow, prompting us into Christ likeness and becoming the change this world needs to see and emulate. So…..Got Change?
