How to Handle the Crossroads of Life

DAY 6 OF 6

Let's Reflect

We've come to the last day of this devotional; let's sum it up.

The journey of life is punctuated by many crossroads, and some are more significant than others. The choice of what to study in school may not be of equal consequence as the choice of who to marry, and the decision to take a career path may not have the same consequence as losing a loved one. Either way, crossroads are pathways to a significant transition in life, and they aren’t always easy to navigate.

Jesus knew the pain and agony leading to his death, but he struggled with that reality. In the garden of Gethsemane, the Bible says in Matthew 26:39, “And going a little farther he fell on his face and prayed, saying, “My Father, if it is possible, let this cup pass from me; nevertheless, not as I will, but as you will.” Beloved, crossroads are hard, and they are sometimes painful experiences.

Sometimes, life prepares us for what is coming, and sometimes we only adjust along the way. You’ve survived a lot to be here. And if I don’t know of any events in your life, I know of the COVID-19 global pandemic. If you are reading this, congratulations, you survived that.

There is no perfect framework that gives a guaranteed outcome in life. You could do all the right things, but life still would not dance to your tune. Why? Because the outcomes of your life do not only hinge on your good works. Some people do not share your godly values and morals, yet they become part of the equation in the outcomes of your choices.

My goal is that this plan provides you with some hope, encouragement and insight when you come to a crucial junction in your life. Your crossroad may not come in the form of trials and challenges like Job; it may be an opportunity to compromise your faith, ethics, morals and values, just like Judas or Samson. Nevertheless, I have prayed that God will give you the strength, grace and fortitude to stay true and, if need be, the courage to make the necessary adjustment.

In conclusion, beloved, choose a path that honors God. We cannot always logically make sense of God’s leading, but if we trust and obey, we put ourselves in the right position for a better outcome.

Above all, I wish you peace, strength, and grace for the journey ahead. Keep the Faith.

Day 5

About this Plan

How to Handle the Crossroads of Life

We sometimes don’t fully recover from the consequences of wrong choices. The grace of God may give us new beginnings, but sometimes the scars and pain leave a memory that we later call experience. As we all journey through life, we will get to different crossroads: events and choices that often define the rest of our life. What can we do, and how do we make the right choices?
