I love all kinds of parties. Birthday parties, family parties, opening parties, spontaneous parties with colleagues at work. There are people who always find a reason to celebrate and raise a glass.

One of the most popular feasts among the Jews was the Feast of Tabernacles. The salvation out of Egypt by Yahweh was celebrated and commemorated with high spirits. They are here only because God has been faithful in the past up till today. Freedom is a good reason for a party.

Over the past centuries, many churches have taken the time before Easter to recollect the essential core of faith: The reason why we are free is Jesus.

You do not need a new spiritual experience or another Christian kick. In the next 40 days, take time to come back to the old yet challenging truth that a life of fullness can be found in Jesus.

Have a spontaneous mini-party today and together with another person raise a glass with the best sparkling water or similar. As you do this, thank God that Jesus quenches your thirst.
