God’s Promises for Solopreneurs

DAY 7 OF 7

Promise: God Will Guide You

I was born and raised in the Netherlands and have had the privilege of living and working in Canada for about four-and-a-half years. When my husband and I crossed the mark for three-and-a-half years of living abroad, we began to discuss a potential move back to our home country.

Guidance from God had never been more important to me than it was at that time. After all, our final decision could mean we were going to leave behind friends, a job, a church… a complete life!

You might also stand at a crosspoint, having to make a small or big decision for your business or personal life. Wouldn’t it be great if God just sent an email with a step-by-step guide on how to move forward?

However, that’s not how God leads. Nowhere in the Bible did He send letters, but He gave the promise that He will guide you (Isaiah 58:11).

My husband and I eventually decided to move back—a big leap of faith into the unknown. After our move, I couldn’t immediately see why God wanted us back in the Netherlands, and I started to doubt.

Did God in fact guide us here?

I realized that God's guidance doesn’t mean that you’re being presented with the whole road map. God gives the pieces that you need at that very moment and then He’ll lead you along as you go.
The transition was tough for me, but I experienced firsthand that nothing is too difficult or complex for my God to figure out and guide me through. Not even running a business in a different time zone.

If you are in a season of unknowns, find strength in today’s Bible passages. When taking steps with God, you can’t go wrong. Listen to His whispers and guidance (provided by His Word or fellow believers, for example). The Lord of all mankind has your back.

Blessings,
Jane
