At His Tableნიმუში

The Table
In Jewish culture, the table symbolised far more than a mere place to sit and dine. Instead, it represented Jewish history, customs, and values. There was a deep sense of togetherness, comfort, and, most importantly, closeness. It was the sacred space of communion with one another.
Today the same stands true. At the table, meals are shared, stories are told, fears are confessed, comfort is given, and prayers are offered. The table represents our intrinsic need to be seen and understood. Being seated there reminds us that there is more to it than food for the body, but rather honey for the soul.
That is the invitation that Christ readily extends to us. The purpose of Christ’s coming, death, and resurrection was for us to be seated with Him. To know Him and be known by Him. To dwell in His presence. To have intimate fellowship with the Creator. To share in His sufferings as well as His resurrection power.
Just as He called the disciples to be with Him, He beckons us to do the same: to abide in Him, to remain in Him, to commune with Him.
Christ came by way of a humble manger, by way of a rugged cross, and by way of a victorious empty tomb. This Great Shepherd didn’t just come down; He sat down at a table that He prepared for us.
Today, remember His great desire for you to be with Him. While we were still sinners, Christ died for us, and in His great love, He created space for us to sit with Him.
