Seeking God

DAY 37 OF 48

How do you live out your faith? Living in obedience to God is putting your faith in action. If you say you believe but your actions don't match, then maybe you have just some knowledge of God. We can have knowledge, but not have faith (confident belief and reliance upon God). Take a minute, and evaluate your faith. Is it active? How?

Read these scriptures for an understanding of how true salvation calls us to an active faith: 'For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God; not as a result of works, that no one should boast. For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.' Ephesians 2:8-10 NASB

We are given faith as a gift from God. Yet faith is not stagnant. Faith can be strengthened and weakened. Look at how we soar with faith in the text below. 'So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God' (Romans 10:17 KJV).

God provided a way for us to increase our faith from hearing His Word. As you renew your mind with the Word of God, a stronger faith will result. Pray this prayer. 'Father, I ask that you transform the inner parts of my mind and heart through the power of your Holy Spirit, and renew my mind with Your Word. Strengthen my faith. I want to live in active faith through your power. In Jesus' name, amen.'
