Discerning God's Will for Your Life

DAY 3 OF 5

As you feed yourself with God’s Word, your mind is renewed.

Your mind is renewed primarily through the study of the Scriptures, but it may include audio books, YouTube videos, sermons, or any type of Christian text. As you begin to do this you'll notice that your renewed mind begins to get new ideas—ideas about how you should spend your money, what you should do with your free time, what to do in particular relationships or with specific people.

The Holy Spirit plants thoughts and ideas within you as you feed your mind with His truth.

I remember the first time I got the idea to give away all of my money. I wouldn’t have even entertained a thought like that before hearing messages about people taking radical steps of faith in their finances. As I looked into God’s Word more, this thought clung to me, and I realized that giving generously is part of discipleship. It was not wise in my understanding, but the Word of God changed something in me–so much so that these thoughts became possible and made sense.

As you renew your mind, you become open to the will of God. If you give God your mind, He will give you His will.

Let's Pray:

God, I want to know You more, and the best way to do that is through Your Word. As I feed on Your Word, Holy Spirit, renew my mind to be Kingdom-like, and show me what God’s will is for me.

About this Plan

Discerning God's Will for Your Life

How can anyone know what God desires in their ministry, job, marriage, or any other sphere of life? Knowing His will for any particular area of our life is important. I have asked myself these questions as well, and this is what I’ve learned.
