HOME

DAY 1 OF 4

What is home for you? Home can mean different things to different people. It may mean your childhood home, or perhaps home is more conceptual for you. Home could be a feeling of warmth and comfort that has followed you from place to place. Home may even look like a person, the constant friend or parent that kept you grounded through new seasons and fresh journeys.

Oxford Languages defines “home” as “the place where one lives permanently, especially as a member of a family or household.” Permanence may not be a word you associate with home, particularly during years of inconsistency or change. While you may not have had a home that felt permanent, there is one home that will last forever.

“For this world is not our permanent home; we look forward to a home yet to come.” Hebrews 13:14 assures us that this Earth is a temporary resting place. Our “home yet to come” is where we will forever be in communion with God our Father in Heaven. This should excite us!

Until we pass into eternity, we are left with instructions: “But seek first his kingdom and righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well” (Matthew 6:33). Jesus reminds us that we must not grow anxious over the happenings here on Earth. Our King Jesus is coming soon to bring us home.

Over these next three days, we will be exploring what it means to live as citizens of Heaven here on earth, preparing for the coming of our King.

“Your Kingdom come, Your will be done, on Earth as it is in Heaven.” Let this always be our prayer as we center our hearts and minds on the Kingdom that is coming – our home.

Day 2

About this Plan

HOME

Home can mean different things to different people. For followers of Jesus, this world is not our home. Over these next four days, we will be exploring what it means to live as citizens of Heaven here on earth, preparing for the coming of our King.
