Women Who Struggle With Lust

DAY 1 OF 5

Psalm 119:37 says, “Turn my eyes from worthless things, and give me life through your word.”

In our day and age, we see a lot of worthless things. Everywhere we look, we are bombarded with advertisements, pictures, videos, and sometimes even porn. The first time I saw explicit material, I was a teenager on a popular social media site, and it popped up. I didn't have to seek it out or search for it; it just was there. We now not only have to stop looking for it but actively fight against seeing these worthless things. I decided to delete that app. You may need to take the proper steps to prevent yourself from looking at worthless things.

The Psalmist asks God to turn his eyes away from worthless things and instead look for life through God’s word. We can take these images, good or bad, and without realizing it, think that is where our life, joy, and meaning are found. Those images are useless to God, and they are useless to us. We know they are useless because they do not add any joy to our lives; they often lead to feelings of shame or regret. Today let’s pray that God turns our eyes toward him and away from meaningless things.

Prayer: Loving Heavenly Father, we want to spend our time wisely, not looking at images that steal our contentment. We also pray that the people behind those images know You created them and designed them to live for Your purpose. We pray they feel Your presence and love for them. We also pray for strength to fight against these worthless images and put the right people around us to help us in the fight. Thank You for being a God who gives life. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

Day 2

Lust can take many forms; some may struggle with sexual lust, and some may lust after more money, status, or a bigger platform. No matter how one wrestles with lust, lust will always steal your comfort. At its core, lust is actually a lack of contentment, and this 5-day plan will help you lean on the source of contentment which is the living word of God.
