Healing Rain That Makes Us Whole

DAY 3 OF 5

Bridging the Gap with God’s Word

Healing is not just something God does; it’s who He is. God is our healer. You don’t have to beg God for healing; it’s already in His character and nature to heal. In fact, there are no sick people in heaven. All disease is gone, and believers inherit heavenly bodies. Jesus brought heaven’s reality of health and wholeness to earth, demonstrating the Kingdom by healing the sick and casting out demons. He calls us, as His disciples, to do the same.

Do you ever find, however, that it’s easier to pray for someone else’s healing than for your own? I’m full of faith praying for others, but I’m more likely to fall into doubt when I have to deal with my own daily symptoms. How about you?

One of the ways to lessen the gap between believing in healing (especially for others) and experiencing healing (especially for ourselves) is to declare some truths from God’s Word. Sometimes we need to stand up and speak out our foundational beliefs, letting our voices rise as faith fills our hearts. Declaring the healing truths of Scripture is like taking medicine for our hearts and bodies. Here are some healing truths I frequently declare:

•I believe in the atoning work of Jesus Christ, who died on the cross for me. I receive salvation by faith, through grace, when I repent of my sin and make Jesus my Lord and Savior.

•I believe genuine transformation occurs when I embrace Jesus as Savior. My old life passes away, and new life comes.

•I believe God’s will is that I walk in the Holy Spirit’s power daily and have the fruits of the Spirit active in my life.

•I believe the Bible is God’s inspired Word that nourishes my spirit, soul, and body every time I read and meditate on it.

•I believe I am called to share the Good News with others, invite them to receive Jesus as their Lord and Savior, and make disciples.

•I believe in divine healing. I believe Jesus has given us power to heal the sick in answer to prayers of faith. I am called to minister His healing to a broken world.

I pray that God will build a strong foundation of faith in your life. I pray that you will declare out loud your faith in the One who is the healer of your body, mind, soul, and spirit!
