Splendor Of The King

DAY 5 OF 5

For His Splendor

We see God’s splendor in creation—in a tropical oasis, in snow-capped mountains, and in shooting stars. But for all the extraordinary parts of his creation, God’s splendor is best displayed in us! He takes broken vessels and turns them into masterpieces that reflect His perfect beauty. He chose to make us the crown of his creation.

Jesus spent time in the wilderness being tempted. The devil promised him all the authority and splendor in the world, if he would only bow down and worship. But Jesus realized his high calling. He knew that authority and splendor only come from the Father. He also knew his purpose—he came for the lost, the downtrodden, those poor in spirit.

The Father's grand design is to display his splendor through all people—but especially those on the very margins of society, like Sambo. It is God’s love and grace that brings restoration to those living in brokenness. He wants to change lives. We are made to help bring his restoration to our broken world—to be part of his reconciliation process, bringing about change among those on the margins, not for our glory, but for his.

Pray:

May the reconciliation of Christ be in us and may we extend it to those around us, for the splendor of the King. Amen.
