The church at large

The worldwide church once started small. Can you imagine that this global church with millions of people once started with a group of people somewhere in a room in Jerusalem? In that room, it started small, but it could not stay small!

How wonderful that this was and is God's plan, to establish a global church, a worldwide witness.

In the microCHALLENGE below, we challenge you to encourage someone from another country. To truly engage in this worldwide witness. Watch the video and get started yourself.

2000 years ago Jesus started a movement that will never, ever stop. From that moment in Jerusalem until this day, the worldwide church exists.

It is the group of people who will follow Jesus in everything. Jesus binds Himself to this group, the church. In the Bible, He uses words like bride, treasure, and apple of His eye when He talks about the church. The church is connected worldwide.

Who are you connected to?

In this microCHALLENGE we challenge you to encourage your worldwide brothers and sisters. A postcard, a message, or use social media - it’s easy. Every day you encourage simply one person, but, and that is the challenge: every day you encourage someone from another country. The first couple of days will be easy of course, but how long can you maintain this? Be creative and encourage your worldwide family in Christ.

At the end, post how many days you managed. That is the challenge.

Take the following questions to think about:

• Encourage your brothers and sisters worldwide. Do this by sending a card or message every day for the next few days. For example, ask in your church, at Open Doors, SDOK, or a missionary organization that could use encouragement abroad.
• How do you feel about encouraging your brothers and sisters worldwide by sending them a card or message?

Prayer:

• Father, thank You that I can be part of Your plan. Of Your worldwide witness. Thank You, Lord Jesus, for Your obedience to the Father and Your love for Your church. Would You show me who specifically I may pray for today and who I can encourage with a message or a card?
