When I(n) DoubtSample
Faith and wonder
"Ah, it's like this every time! Whenever we want to go on vacation, one of the kids gets sick." Has that ever happened to you? Or "I applied for the job, but someone else will probably get it—it's always like that."
It can be really easy to say things like this because, let's face it, things did happen that way before. But I'd like to ask you today, "Where is your faith in situations like these?"
The Israelites were similar to us in a lot of ways. When Moses stood with them before the Red Sea that blocked their way—while, at the same time, Pharaoh's troops were right on their heels—the Israelites were quick to grumble: "'...Weren't there enough graves for us in Egypt? What have you done to us?...'" (Exodus 14:11, NLT) In today's language, their complaints might've sounded something like "We knew this would go wrong! Once slaves, always slaves."
Remember, Moses hadn't ever seen the sea part either! He stood alone before a huge problem, and behind him were people who saw no hope. After all, humanly speaking, there wasn't any hope. But Moses had very strong faith. His trust in his almighty God was unshakeable.
And before he saw, he spoke! "...'I believed and therefore I spoke…'" (2 Corinthians 4:13, NKJV).
Before Moses saw the sea part so the people could pass through, he said, "'...Stand still, and see the salvation of the LORD, which He will accomplish for you today...'" (Exodus 14:13, NKJV).
Great confidence soon turns into joyful wonder! As we know, the great miracle, the parting of the Red Sea and the Israelites' safe passage through on dry land, happened shortly afterwards. But before the miracle came to pass, someone had to trust in God and express that trust!
Will that person be you as you face that difficult situation in your life or in your family, job, or community? Will that be you when it comes to your health, your fears, or an addiction you're confronting?
Today, right here, right now, speak aloud in confidence the miracle that YOU are believing for!
I pray your day today begins with trust and ends with wonder!
You are a miracle!

About this Plan
The word ‘doubt’ can be a noun and a verb. It can define us and stop us from acting. Is that you today? Do you need encouragement to keep walking in faith?
