Parasha Minute: Genesis / Breisheet

DAY 21 OF 31

"King of Righteousness and Peace"

Avram (Abram) just rescued his nephew, Lot, from evil Sodom City. On the way back, he was met by Melkizedek, the King of Salem (Peace) and Priest of El Elyon (Most High God). As Priest, He offered bread and wine and ministered a blessing on Avram, the one who possessed the promise. This Man, also called King of Tzedek (Righteousness), was Righteousness and Peace. An everlasting Minister of the Most High God, He was like the Son of God. After battle, Avram met a Priest King, who performed a blessing offering bread and wine.

The Promised Messiah broke bread, took wine, performed a blessing, then went to battle at Calvary. As Avram and Yeshua (Jesus) did, so our triumph will be marked with a blessing and a meal celebrating victory because of the Cross. Reflections / Prayer: Adonai, you see my battles ahead. Nothing slips past Your perfection. We speak a blessing to the King of Righteousness and Peace and seek to be ministered to by the Priest of the Most High.
