The Jesus Bible Reading Planნიმუში

THE CROWN
Ezekiel spoke of the turban and the crown as a way of referencing the coming king who would rule over God’s people. God’s campaign against sin is severe, and nothing will remain after God’s work is done. The current system would be wrecked and ruined. Israel never had a perfect king, though it seemed that several leaders would assume this role. They longed for a king. Yet, no mere human could ever perform the kingly role for which the people longed. They needed a kingly Messiah who would perfectly do what others had failed to accomplish.
The crown does not belong to any person but Jesus (Ge 49:10). Jesus is the ultimate King who sits on the throne (Lk 1:32 – 33). Jesus is worthy not only of the crown from God, but also of every measure of worth from the lives of his people. One day everyone who trusts in Jesus will be able to cast their glory and accomplishments at his feet and recognize him as the One who is worthy of all honor, because he and he alone has won salvation for those who believe in him.
Jesus, please enable and empower me to do great things for you so that what you accomplish through me can one day be cast at your feet. Amen.
