Daily Bible Reading – September 2022: "God’s Renewing Word of Wisdom"ნიმუში

September 27
Introduction
James warns his readers against making distinctions between the rich and the poor, and he argues that one’s actions demonstrate one’s faith. He lifts up Abraham and Rahab as examples of those whose faith and actions worked together.
Scripture Reading
James 2:1-26
Today’s Key Verse: James 2:26
So then, as the body without the spirit is dead, also faith without actions is dead.
Reflect
Have you ever witnessed someone being mistreated because of their outward appearance or because they were poor? If so, what did you do? Why does James emphasize linking faith with actions? What can be learned from the examples of Abraham and Rahab? (You can read their stories in the Old Testament in Genesis 15:1-6; 22:1-19 and Joshua 2:1-24; 6:22-25.)
Pray
Merciful God, help me to see others through your eyes of love and teach me not to pass judgment on others based on outward appearances. Strengthen my faith and embolden me to act in ways that will advance your Kingdom. Amen.
Tomorrow’s Reading
James 3:1-18: James admonishes his readers to be mindful of their speech.
