Faithful: 3 Scriptures to Pray Over Your Husband

DAY 3 OF 3

For no man ever yet hated his own flesh; but nourisheth and cherisheth it, even as the Lord the church: For we are members of his body, of his flesh, and of his bones. For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and shall be joined unto his wife, and they two shall be one flesh. This is a great mystery: but I speak concerning Christ and the church. Nevertheless let every one of you in particular so love his wife even as himself. Ephesians 5:29-33 (KJV)

A man who loves himself will not dishonor his body and soul with adultery, porn, or substance abuse. A man who loves himself practices spiritual care. Such a man loves God and yields his spirit, soul, and body to the Holy Spirit. Hating one's wife is against divine order. Being one with our spouse is God's perfect will. This oneness or unity in marriage is essential for our children's mental health and spiritual well-being. Our children can sense the absence of harmony in our marriage, and their brains can find it confusing that two people who claim to love each other cannot live in unity. We must seek to establish God’s will of love and unity in our marital relationship.

Prayer: Heavenly Father, in the name of Jesus and by the power in the blood of Jesus, deliver my husband from self-destructive behaviors and generational curses. Teach my husband to love himself the way you want him to and to love you above all else so he can live for you and fulfill your will for our marriage. In the name of Jesus, I decree and declare victory over every foundational issue that hinders my husband from becoming one with me. From this moment, I operate in divine wisdom in my marriage and enjoy God’s will of peace and unity in my home. Thank you, Jesus!
