Triumphing over flesh and sin

DAY 6 OF 7

I can progress in sanctification with a smile

God has placed His Spirit in you, the spirit of adoption (Rom 8:16) so that you may be holy as a child of God and not to become one.

Indeed, it is not your actions that make you a child of God, but your simple faith in Jesus' work for you. So don't let condemnation or guilt discourage you. Simply follow the Holy Spirit who draws you to Jesus, urges you to His Word, inspires you in prayer (Rom 8:26).

Remember that Jesus is not looking at your shortcomings, but praying for you so that you may succeed (Rom 8:31,34-35)!

The Father has given his own son for you, he wants you to succeed!!! He carries you, pushes you forward, draws you to him. Understand that God wants you to be saved even more! He will not abandon you and will pour out His grace on you until you are safe with Him for eternity (Rom 8:32).

I invite you to make this statement aloud:

Thank you Father because you are for me, you encourage me, you want me to be a saint and you have done everything for me to succeed. Thank you Jesus for your prayers for me! Holy Spirit, I trust in you. I do not rely on my own strength but on your power. I choose to listen to you because you live in me.

About this Plan

Triumphing over flesh and sin

We are body, soul and spirit. Flesh is the term for our Godless nature. Have you noticed a struggle within you, between your spirit and your flesh? The apostle Paul explains this struggle in chapters 6, 7, and 8 of the Epistle to the Romans. Paul does not justify mediocrity there, but explains how to live in Jesus' victory by living in the Spirit.
