Seek in Seven

DAY 4 OF 7

"The young lions lack and suffer hunger but those who seek the Lord shall not lack any good thing." Psalm 34:10

The young lions may grow weak and hungry, but those who seek the Lord lack no good thing. Lions are some of the most amazing creatures. They are powerful and maintain their strength by resting throughout the day. They are at the top of the food chain in the wild, meaning they have a wide variety of prey at their disposal and are adequately equipped to hunt prey. In their natural habitat, they have everything they need. In this scripture, David uses the lion to create a picture. He speaks of young lions and describes them as being weak and hungry. Not the lion I know. But let's look a little deeper into what he is communicating. This Psalm expresses that no matter how strong or capable we are, no matter what may be available to us, we will still never experience the fullness of the provision that is available if we do not seek the Lord. He warns that even the lion will be weak and hungry. Even something with every strategic ability and accessibility will still experience lack in the absence of the pursuit of God.

Do you want a successful life in God? This kind of life is only obtained from God and with God. It is available for you as you see Him. With Him, you can genuinely lack no good thing.

As you go through your day, notice the areas of your heart that may feel lacking. Speak these words: Lord, I seek your presence in my life. Father, help me to seek you so that I lack no good thing.

About this Plan

Seek in Seven

This devotional reveals what it takes to live a God-first lifestyle in which you gain access to the promises of God. You can live a life filled with purpose and provision, deliverance and calling if you seek Him first. Over the next seven days we will do just that by seeking God in non-distracting environments and getting closer than you ever imagined possible.
