Adulting 101: 5 Tips to Success

DAY 5 OF 5

5. Read Your Bible.

Have you read your Bible yet today? This isn’t a religious exercise. It’s a lifelong habit that will keep you healthier and happier than those that don’t.

The Center for Bible Engagement research revealed that reading your Bible at least four or more times a week dramatically affects your life quality. You’ll be:

  • 228% more likely to share your faith with others
  • 407% more likely to memorize scripture
  • 59% less likely to view pornography
  • 30% less likely to struggle with loneliness.

(“Understanding the Bible Engagement Challenge: Scientific Evidence for the Power of 4,” by Arnold Cole and Pamela Ovwigho)

God’s word is spirit and life. It’s living and active, which explains why the scripture you read in 5th grade pops out at you with new meaning when you’re 30. God’s word really is that lamp and light that will guide you as you do this thing called adulting.

If you’re suffering from anxiety, loneliness, depression – or a loss of vision and purpose, go to the word. Find out who you are in Christ Jesus and let God's word strengthen and uplift you.

You can do this. Adulting takes hard work, but if you keep your eyes on God, you'll find success at work, at home, and in your relationships.

"It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh profits nothing; the words that I have spoken to you are spirit and are life.” John 6:63 NASB
