Remembering Jesus

DAY 3 OF 3

Rejoice in remembrance today because we are not remembering one who is dead but One who is alive, One who entered the holy places by means of His very own blood, securing eternal redemption for us (Hebrews 9:12). We, too, are made alive in Jesus!

“For if we have been united with Him in a death like His, we shall certainly be united with Him in a resurrection like His.” (Romans 6:5)

We rejoice on this Resurrection Sunday and every day for the rest of our lives because we are dead to sin and alive to Christ! Our old man, our sin nature, was crucified with Christ, and, just as the Spirit raised Him to life, He also now lives inside of us and has given us eternal life.

Let this be what we remember and rejoice in today as we take communion and celebrate Jesus. We remember all Jesus accomplished through His body and His blood. We remember His death, burial, and resurrection. We remember the richness of the Gospel, the good news of Jesus Christ. Through this act of remembrance and communion, we proclaim His victorious death until His glorious return. (1 Corinthians 11:23-26) Let us not forget His death and resurrection were unto our restoration of relationship, intimacy, and communion with God. We await His return with eager expectation, until then, remembering and rejoicing for His finished work.

Day 2

About this Plan

Remembering Jesus

Through His death, burial and resurrection, Jesus accomplished far more than simply acquiring a way for us to go to heaven when we die. In this devotional, we are going to look at what Jesus accomplished and the importance of remembrance through communion. Join us in Remembering Jesus.
