Key People: Key People From The BibleSample
Moses
Generations after Joseph and his brothers moved to Egypt, the Israelites have become so numerous they present a threat to the Egyptians. Pharaoh, the king of Egypt, orders all the male babies to be killed at birth, beginning a process of genocide. In this chapter, Moses’ parents are not only able to preserve his life but also get him adopted into the royal family. His life is again threatened when he defends one of his fellow Israelites.
In the midst of extreme oppression, God is still at work. Even in the little detail of Moses crying at just the right time. It’s easy to become discouraged when things go wrong, but does God have a plan we cannot see? Moses’ anger was also used by God to get Moses where God wanted him. It’s reassuring to know God can use our mistakes to accomplish His purpose.
