Fasting and Prayer: 21-Day Challenge

DAY 11 OF 21

FOLLOW ALONG WITH OUR AUDIO VERSION OF TODAY'S DEVOTIONAL

A GRATEFUL LIFE

READ

“Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, let us be thankful, and so worship God acceptably with reverence and awe”—Hebrews 12:28 (NIV)

REFLECT

Let’s be honest . . . we live in a world that can often feel very unstable. Browse through your social media feeds or turn on the news and you’ll likely find that most of the people around you are walking on shaky ground, full of anxiety and uncertainty. But we don’t have to live that way—we have everything to live for. Living in the kingdom of God means that no matter what’s happening around us, we can live with confidence and conviction because Jesus has given us everything we need to stand strong, firm, and unshaken. Today, ask yourself, “How am I living in light of this truth? Where do I need to be more thankful, and how can I better worship God with reverence and awe?” Take some time to reflect on Psalm 100, a psalm of thanksgiving, and then write out your own personal psalm of thanksgiving to the Lord.

PRAY

Father, I praise You today! Thank You for being so wonderful, powerful, and gracious. The list goes on and on! Help me look to You more often so my faith and love for You will never grow complacent. Help me to remember Your unshakeable kingdom when things don’t go as I thought they would. When I begin to look at the things of this world or my circumstances, keep me on solid ground. Amen.

FOR THE FAMILY

DISCUSS

  1. What does it mean to be thankful? What are you thankful for?
  2. How can you live a life of thankfulness every day?

PRAY

Father, I praise You today! Thank You for being so wonderful, powerful, and gracious. The list goes on and on! Help me remember Your greatness and Your love when things don’t go as I thought they would. You are good! Amen.
