DAY 5 OF 14

LION DEVO

LYRIC EXCERPT:

Hail hail Lion of Judah

Let the Lion roar

If you grew up in church, you probably remember the image of Jesus that lined the coloring books you found in the kids’ classes.

This usually had a little cartoon Jesus sitting on a rock with a lamb in His lap while children gathered around Him, listening to what He had to say. It may have even had the verse under it where Jesus says to, “Let the little children come to me.”

While this is a big part of who Jesus is, it’s still not the full story.

It’s true that Jesus is the Lamb of God –– but that’s not all He is.

The book of Revelation also calls Him “the Lion of Judah.”

He confronted systemic issues.

He challenged faulty theology.

He conquered death.

He’s the lion and the lamb –– and He wants to be both for you.

You can go to Him for protection and you can go to Him for comfort.

You can go to Him for wisdom and you can go to Him for peace.

You can go to Him with boldness and you can go to him with weakness.

You can bring it all to Him today.

About this Plan

Lion Devotional

In Revelation, we see Jesus as the “Lion of the tribe of Judah” and the “Lamb who was slain.” So much of God’s kingdom embodies paradox; even Jesus Himself was sovereign AND He submitted to authority. He’s the beginning AND the end. He isn’t relegated to one or the other. Join us for this 14-day study as we learn about how God’s kingdom and character may surprise us.
