DAY 3 OF 7

Day #3 Being responsible is better than getting agitated

Depending on your personality type, when it comes to time management, you may feel overwhelmed by the amount of work you have to do, or you may feel pressure to do more and more.

I have been a pastor for over 12 years. I have seen mainly two categories of Christians in the church. Those who put their own lives before God and those who put the church before their responsibilities.

Few Christians lead a balanced life in the sight of God.

The lack of balance in our time leads to frustration because we cannot put more marbles in each pot than its capacity. If you spend less time on one of your responsibilities, you are negligent and will not be rewarded. If you give too much time, you are wasting time and therefore you are negligent in another area because your time is limited.

Lack of balance also leads to shortcomings, since the areas we neglect in our lives do not bear fruit either.

What awaits every Christian is to become religious. The religious spirit is a demon that tries to influence every Christian with thoughts like :

"You should do more to show your love to God !”

"Look what the apostle Paul was doing, you're really lazy, you lack consecration!"

"You're wasting your time looking after your children when you could be serving the Lord !"

The religious spirit tries to make you believe that the time you use to "serve the Lord" is better invested than in fulfilling your family, marital or professional responsibilities. In reality, its purpose is to push you into an imbalance so that you are not faithful in your responsibilities. The enemy wants to limit the fruit of your life, lead you to waste your time, develop frustrations that will lead you to discouragement, and finally to passivity.

Yet, everything you do, you do under the eyes of God.

In biblical thought, there is no sacred time or secular time. So if you are washing dishes, changing a diaper, doing bookkeeping, fixing a car, shopping, playing with your children, witnessing Jesus to your neighbor, preaching the Gospel, or "serving in church", your life is an act of worship before God.

For example, with regard to educating children, Jesus says that if we care for children, we care for Him. I'm not saying you have to stop praying just to work. But what is important to understand is that God considers your faithfulness in your responsibilities as important as your faithfulness in your service to Him, because if you do what He asks of you, then everything is for Him!

I will even go further and I don't think I'm out of biblical thinking. I am more and more convinced that neglect of our responsibilities is an obstacle to God's favor in our service to Him. That is why the qualifications to be in God's service are to take good care of one's home and family.

Jesus said, "Whoever is faithful in little things, to him will I entrust greater things" Maybe you think taking care of your family is a small thing, it is not: do it with all your heart and with excellence!

Day 2Day 4

About this Plan

168, No More, No Less

168 is the number of hours that each human being has for a week. No more, no less. The Psalmist cried out, "Lord, teach us to count our days well!" In our fast-paced society, counting our HOURS has become vital. I invite you to reflect over the next few days on how to invest and allocate your time ACCORDING to GOD.
