21 Days to Finding Eternal Purpose in Your Daily Work

DAY 20 OF 21

Yesterday, we saw why Christians should be the boldest professionals on the planet. Today’s verse gives even greater credence as to why. Even when the worst happens at work—your business fails, you lose your job, or you get stuck working for a difficult boss—you can know God will work all those things for your good and his glory.

How can you know this? Because God worked the worst thing in history—the death of his innocent son— ”for the good of those who love him.”

Now, it can be easy to abuse Romans 8:28 and claim if, for example, you lost your job, God must have a better one in store for you. That may be true. But it might not be, and God would be good just the same. James 1:17 tells us “every good...gift” is from God. He is the author of good, and thus, he alone defines what goodness is.

Because your work matters to God, the world needs you to do it boldly! The hope of Romans 8:28 is one of the deepest resources to help you do just that—to work boldly, knowing God will be faithful to work everything for your good and his glory.
