Pray, Wife! Pray!

DAY 2 OF 7

Becoming a Brave Wife

Are you brave? I know that is an odd question, but if we are going to be effective wives, we will need bravery.

It’s not one of the first characteristics that come to mind when we think of being a wife. It’s not one of the softer traits like gentleness or kindness, but it is just as needed.

There will be times that we will have to take a stand for what we know is right.

Times that we will have to muster up faith when all seems hopeless.

Times that we will have to fight the enemy even when it seems our strength is failing.

These are the times that we must be brave enough to decide that whatever is coming against us and our marriage will not win.

We must stand firm in Christ and be courageous.

After all, when we align with God, all of heaven is backing us up. God is fighting with us and for us.

Be brave.

Prayer:

Lord, I pray for bravery today! Allow me to be bold and confident in who You created me to be. You have not given me fear, and I refuse to allow it to control me. I will walk boldly as Your daughter. I’ll confront whatever needs to be addressed and oppose anything that comes against my marriage and family. I’ll stand for righteousness. I’ll speak up as You lead me. I know that You will protect and defend me. Thank You that Your strength is made perfect in my weakness. I will be strong and courageous!

About this Plan

Pray, Wife! Pray!

Changes in our marriages will only happen in proportion to changes in us. Yes, our husbands need to grow, but we can’t control their growth. We only have authority over our own. This devotional is designed to help us yield our hearts, and ultimately our actions and responses, to the life-changing power of God’s Word. As we do that, we will see changes in our marriages and our lives.
