When Heaven Met Earth

DAY 2 OF 5

Jesus Brings Heaven To Earth

The turning point in this otherwise depressing scenario was the coming of Jesus to earth many thousands of years later. He brought back heaven to earth by his presence, power, suffering, death and resurrection.

His arrival was ordinary, nothing grand but it was life altering for the whole world. Jesus turned the tables on religion by transforming it into a relationship. He moved people from comfort to their calling. He changed the lives of 11 grimy men into powerful ambassadors. He introduced hope into the most hopeless of situations. He healed everyone who he encountered. He touched the untouchable, called the unseen and sent the most unlikely people out to continue his work all over the world. He still does this. He still is working in people. He is still changing hearts. He is still bringing hope and shifting perspectives so that there are glimpses of heaven right here on earth.

If Jesus had not come down and become one of us, we would have never really known God. We would have known of Him, but he would have stayed a distant reality, one who we would have never gotten to experience and journey with. With Jesus entering our time and space physically, he brought God to us and now is with us forever when we surrender our lives to Him. Heaven shows up in our everyday when we are attuned to the voice of God, when we see him in the faces of people we encounter and in the situations of our life where peace permeates even when things are going downhill.

Have you accepted Jesus as your Lord and Saviour?

Have you begin to experience glimpses of heaven that he brings into your life?

About this Plan

When Heaven Met Earth

Christmas is a great time to look closer at ourselves and see how the reality of Jesus coming to earth changed our lives. Heaven invaded earth and forever changed it. Our lives may be hard and complicated but in no way is it pointless with Jesus in it. Will you allow heaven to invade your life and live with a greater awareness of God’s presence and purpose for your life?
