LET’S GO FISHING

It’s the fifteenth year of the Roman Emperor Tiberius. Lake Galilee is a busy place, with many people working at fishing and boat-building. The lake is a way of travelling too: a boat trip is quicker than walking along rough roads. Because it was busy, new ideas or stories spread quickly to other areas.

This is the place where Jesus decides to start teaching a new message from God. On this morning, many people are already following him as he comes to the lakeshore. He asks Simon Peter, one of the fishermen, for the loan of something.

What did Jesus borrow from him?

So many people wanted to hear Jesus that he ended up teaching from a very unusual place. Where was it?

After he’d finished teaching, what did Jesus tell Simon Peter to do with the boat?
