We Were Sexual Before We Were Sinful

DAY 3 OF 6

Redemption

In response to this need for reconciliation, we see the definitive work of Jesus through his birth, life, death, and resurrection. Often we might find ourselves asking, “What was it all for? How does the work of Jesus affect my daily life?" The Apostle Paul puts it beautifully in his letter to Titus; he states that He [Jesus] gave himself up for you. To redeem you. To free you from lawlessness. To cleanse you so that he may possess you, and eager that you may do good works. He has redeemed you while repairing the relationship with the created and their Creator.

The radical, life-transforming experience of having a restored relationship with God is made possible through the person of Jesus Christ. And where sin has bent us, Jesus is diligent in providing a way of unbending us.

When we think of shame, guilt, and condemnation, our eyes should not focus on ourselves in this part of the story. Instead, our eyes should shift their focus to the everlasting work Jesus accomplished. This is the beginning of new life. This is where the terrible effects from the Fall are becoming undone. Jesus Christ, who lived a perfect life in a perfect relationship with the Father, invites us to join in his victory of sin.

Do you believe that you are invited to be victorious over your sexual struggles?

If you were honest with Jesus about your struggles, how do you think he’d respond to you? Likewise, how does he respond to others with sexual struggles?

About this Plan

We Were Sexual Before We Were Sinful

You have been written into a wonderful story. God’s story is one that includes Creation, Fall, Redemption, and Restoration. However, our conversations surrounding sex often focus on the fall - in reality, we were sexual before we were sinful! In this plan, we'll look at what scripture says about God's creation and design for sex.
