How to Shape Your World

DAY 4 OF 5

Shape Your World by Putting it Back the Way It Was Meant to Be

Okay, you’re almost done with this whole Bible Plan about using creativity to shape your world.

There’s one more thing to think about, specifically, on how you can use creativity to put things back where they belong—back to the way God originally planned. It’s pleasing to God!

Watch this video for some more ideas on what pleases God.

Did you catch the part of the video when she said, “The restoration of this world is what is pleasing to God”? That was good stuff, all right!

Restoration happens when people put things back where they belong. We’re using our God-given creativity when we look after the world left in our care, maintain the beauty God placed around us, and protect friendships. If something is broken, fix it!

Sin puts cracks between us. It blocks out light. Because of sin, creation groans. It dries out healthy land. Goodness, righteousness, and truth cannot blossom in these conditions. The deeds of darkness are fruitless.

When Jesus was on earth, He explained to people that He gives us living water. It is like a fresh spring inside us that gives us eternal life! When we tap into our Creator’s life-giving current, we can bear fruit that renews and heals the world.

Imagine how you could shape your world with Jesus’ life flowing from you. Think of the good things that happen when the words you say and the things you do bring life—and when you leave things and people better than you found them. What is the result when you’re considerate instead of wasteful, and when you guard beauty and expose darkness?

You can partner with God to heal and shape your world back to the way it’s meant to be!

Ask yourself: Take a moment to think carefully about the world around you. Is there anywhere you’re being wasteful? Anywhere you’re breaking the world? How can you generously and creatively give back to the world God gave you?

Challenge yourself: Take a look at that last question in the “Ask yourself” section above. You know what to do! Find a way to make it happen! Give yourself a timeline of one week. If you haven’t done something to give back to the world God gave you by the end of the week, then talk to a trusted adult for ideas. Then, challenge yourself to give back as often as you can!

Pray: God, thank You for placing me in this world at this time. There is evidence of Your goodness, truth, and beauty all around me. I see it in the sky, the earth, and the faces around me each day. Help me to correct anything wasteful or damaging I do to this world or the people You’ve made. In Jesus’ name, amen.

About this Plan

How to Shape Your World

God shaped the world when He created it. And He said it was good. So, why isn’t it all still good? And what can be done about it? This Bible Plan will teach you how to use the creativity God gave you to do what pleases Christ. In other words, it’ll teach you how to creatively partner with God to restore and reshape your own corner of the world!
