Walking With Jesus (Overcoming Stagnation)Sample
How long, O Lord?
"How long, O Lord? Will You forget me forever? How long will You hide Your face from me? How long shall I take counsel in my soul, having sorrow in my heart daily? How long will my enemy be exalted over me?”
Psalms 13:1-2
I once read a story about Bob and Delores, the parents of a young boy named Jason. Bob and Delores knew all too well what it meant to wait for an answer, that is, an answer that seemed unlikely to come. Jason and their future son-in-law, Lindsay, were killed in August 2004, so a national manhunt was launched to find the killer and bring him to justice. After two years of praying and searching for the killer, there were still no answers to the questions of the two families who were injured in the incident. There was only silence and uncertainty.
At such times, it is easy to draw wrong conclusions about life, God, and prayer. In Psalm 13, David struggled with his enemies that exalted themselves over the problems faced by David (verse 2). David also struggled with the problems of unanswered prayer (verse 1). He asked why God was silent about what he was going through, and he asked God for an answer. This psalm was such a heavy psalm that was sung by David. It seemed that this psalm also expressed his feelings of frustration. But in the end, his doubts and fears turned into trust. Why? Because our struggling situations cannot reduce God's character and His love for His children. In verse 5. David changed his mind. He prayed the following from his heart, “But I have trusted in Your mercy; my heart shall rejoice in Your salvation.”
In the troubles and struggles of life that have no answer, we can always find comfort from our heavenly Father.
Reflection:
1. What would you do if God kept silent with you?
2. Have you ever come to the wrong conclusion when you faced a problem that seemed to have no solution? What is the next thing you do?
Application:
Trust the Lord with your life, your loved ones, and the treasures that He has given to you.

About this Plan
Stagnation is something that will hinder the pace of spiritual maturity. If believers do not rise to overcome it soon, the enemy will use stagnation to "kill" their spirituality sooner or later. Through this "Walking with Jesus" devotional series, we will discover what the Bible teaches to rise and grow.
