Cross Fit

DAY 1 OF 7

We are told that we need to, get fit! My question is…fit For what?

We all think about our physical health. We go to the doctor. We eat like a rabbit. We pop vitamins like candy. We have laid down our sodas and replaced them with water. We even take the stairs rather than riding the elevator in comfort.

Even if we are not so good at it, we think about it to some degree.

So again, I ask…fit for what?

Over the next few days, I want to explore the idea of being, Cross Fit! I am not talking about the 14,000 independently owned CrossFit gyms across the world.

CrossFit, the branded fitness regimen phenomenon created by Greg Glassman is something altogether different.

What I am referring to is getting our physical, mental, emotional, spiritual, financial and relational selves lining up with the message of the Cross. That is right…Cross Fit!

But how often do we think about our spiritual fitness?

Spiritual fitness is something that often gets put on the back burner. When we talk about fitness we often assume that physical fitness is the only thing to look at, but spiritual fitness is just as important for a healthy lifestyle!

When we’re spiritually weak, we are more susceptible to attacks from the enemy. We are more at risk for the dangers that life throws at us. To be spiritually fit is to take care of the inside so that the outside cannot harm us!

We have to ensure that we are spiritually fit so that we don’t…

• Lose strength in the Lord

• Waste away, only to find ourselves one with the world

• Gain baggage that we’re not meant to carry

• Find our heart unhealthy

Today, take the time to stop for a moment and consider why our strength and fitness in the Lord is so crucial to living a healthy lifestyle.

Today, may you and I choose to walk in spiritual fitness.

Day 2

About this Plan

Cross Fit

Fitness is more than just going to the gym. In this seven-day plan, David Villa talks about how we can be not just physically fit, but spiritually, financially, relationally, and emotionally fit as well, all through the Word of God.
