Birth of Jesus - The Video Bible

DAY 3 OF 3

Meditate on this picture and this verse today:

For some of us, it can be hard to see God as a loving Father. Maybe we can see Jesus as loving because He died for our sins. But sometimes, because of our situations, it can be hard to see the Father as loving.

The answer is found in this verse:

"For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because they have not believed in the name of God’s one and only Son." -John 3:16-18

So, in this verse we see that the Father is love. The Father is the one who loved the world so much that He sent the Son. The Son loved the Father so much, He obeyed the Father's will.

God set the holy standard to be in heaven. A standard that we could never meet which was a standard of perfection.

Then God steps up and meets His own standard. A standard that we could never meet and He knew it. But He was ok with it. He was ok that we couldn't even meet Him halfway.

So God in His tender mercy met us all the way and met the demand that He set. He descended to this world. He took on flesh.

And He paid the debt that nobody else could.

Surely this is a Father of Love?

May this meditation reveal that to you today.

"For God so loved the world..."  (God the Father)

"For God (Father) did not send his Son (Jesus) into the world to condemn the world..."

"...but to save the world through Him (Jesus) ..."  That is a God of Love!
