I Have Questions

DAY 4 OF 20

Sometimes doing everything right, being a good person, and trying your best doesn't seem to be enough. You still feel unnoticed or even unseen or unappreciated. Why bother trying your best? Why even bother at all? Why is God not rewarding your efforts? Why are you still struggling? Where is God, anyway? Have you ever asked yourself these questions?

If you have, it's okay. Even Jesus cried out to God, asking, "My God, My God, why have you abandoned me?" It's perfectly okay to have these feelings and these questions. You are not alone in crying out in frustration, doubt, worry, sorrow, or pain. Take heart in knowing that God is with you.

Where is God when people are hurting? God is listening and knows it hurts. Take a moment this week to focus on giving your worries to God. Share what's bothering you and what is frustrating you. Ask that the presence of God would be clear to you.

When do you find it most difficult to remember God is with you?

About this Plan

I Have Questions

In times of loss, grief, pain, or doubt, it’s normal to have questions. If you’ve ever tried to make sense of your circumstances, wished life didn’t have to hurt so much, or wondered why God won’t fix what you’re going through, you’re not alone. In this 4-week devotional series from the Grow Curriculum, we'll look at four big questions we're sometimes afraid to ask, and what God says about them.
