Have you ever looked at a beautiful mansion and wished you could live there? Have you seen an image on social media and imaged all of the rooms the house had? You look at pictures of the media room, indoor basketball court, and bedrooms that are bigger than your entire house? Those houses are amazing! However, the house we don’t see in those images, the essential part of the house, is the building process.
Without a rock-solid foundation, the place wouldn’t exist. So as we look at our relationships with the world around us, Paul tells us we have to build on bases of encouragement in people. When people see us, do they see someone eager to point out the faults in their lives, or do they see someone ready to provide hope and encouragement to them? Are we builders or destroyers? Radical people seek to encourage those around us. And in order to encourage someone, you have to be close enough to know what may be discouraging them.
Who are you close to? What is going on in their lives where they may need encouragement?

About this Plan
Jesus had a lot to say about love, but not everyone loved him. Instead, Jesus’ opponents hated him, attacked him, and saw him as extreme — a radical. And they had a point! The things Jesus taught about loving God and others challenged the status quo. In this 4-week devotional series from Grow Curriculum, we'll look at four ways Jesus invites us to love others according to his revolutionary example.
