A safe hiding place

We all aspire for security, and Jesus can fulfill that desire in our hearts. In His arms you can be sure that you will have protection.

I want you to think for a minute of a place that makes you feel peaceful. Perhaps it is a beach, a field of flowers, a garden, or a mountain.

When God is our hiding place, we find peace that cannot be disturbed by the circumstances around us. He is the safest hiding place.

God cares for what is valuable to Him. That is why He is our protector and our help in times of distress.

His word tells us that He is a refuge and strength to all who trust Him. Because God is the rock on which we stand, there is no reason for us to be afraid, even as the ground around us crumbles.

In the middle of financial difficulties, He is our safe place. When we don't know what the future holds, He is our safe place. When we face a negative diagnosis, He is our safe place. God is with us and He will never leave us alone.

I love what David declares in Psalm 4:8:

"In peace I will lie down and sleep

for you alone, Lord, make me dwell in safety."

Have you ever found yourself awake, worrying about what will happen the next day? What is it that steals your sleep at night?

Today I want to encourage you to cling, with all your strength, to the highest hiding place. In God you will find the confidence to lie down and sleep in peace, knowing that the same God who protected you yesterday will do it again today and tomorrow.

Jesus is our hiding place. His love is safe, His forgiveness is safe, His salvation and His promises are safe. He is our safe refuge.

Prayer: Lord, help me put all my trust in You. I put everything that worries me in Your hands and I give You total control of my life. Thank You for being my safe hiding place. Amen.
