Where Is Jesus When I’m Brokenhearted?Sample
What He Wants To Show You
Let’s begin with revisiting the first few lines of what the Holy Spirit said to us in the previous day’s plan:
“You are not motherless. You are not fatherless. I do more than stand in the gap of what has failed you. I take your pain, and I feel it too. I can bear all your sorrow. I can take all your anger. Give it to Me. Over and over again. Give it to Me.”
Take a deep breath now, feeling the air fill your lungs, your chest expanding. Count to four: one, two, three four. Hold the breath in for a moment.
And now exhale to a count of four. One, two, three, four.
As you continue to breathe deep breaths to the count of four—four counts in, four counts out—prepare to get comfortable, and close your eyes.
Surrender your mind, your ideas, your feelings, to Jesus now. Ask Him to give you a picture, an image in your mind, your imagination, of what He wants to show you in these words:
“You are not motherless. You are not fatherless. I do more than stand in the gap of what has failed you. I take your pain, and I feel it too. I can bear all your sorrow. I can take all your anger. Give it to Me. Over and over again. Give it to Me.”
Keep breathing. Stay relaxed. Let Jesus show you what He means with these words for you. What does He have for you now?
When you have spent a few moments breathing, listening, and imagining, consider what words you would use to describe your experience. What did you see? What effect is Jesus’ presence having in you now?

About this Plan
Like a child running to a parent for a bandaid and a kiss, God longs for us to run to him when our souls hurt and our bodies break. Our sorrows are not too much for him. In fact, he delights in us when we turn towards him. This 6 day plan reminds us of God's presence and faithfulness, in good times and in bad.
