Being Drawn to God

DAY 5 OF 5

They That Do the Will of God Will Abide Forever

The only thing you need, to move from where you are to where God wants you to be in Christ, into His fullness, is the surrender of your will.

There can never be two wills in one house or one kingdom. You are the house of God; the kingdom of God is in you. So, you have to decide whose will shall govern everything in your life - yours or Jesus'?

Jesus said that He came to do the will of His Father. “Then I said, 'Here I am, it is written about Me in the scroll: I have come to do Your will, O God'” (Hebrews 10:7). Even in the time of crisis and temptation, He said, “Father, not My will let Your Will be done” (Luke 22:42). Jesus had only one will in His entire life and that was the Father’s will. Can two walk together, unless they are agreed? (Amos 3:3) Jesus always agreed with the Father’s will.

He who is joined to the Lord becomes one spirit with Him (1 Corinthians 6:17). But how does one unite with the Lord and continue to be one spirit with Him? It is by the union of your will! Your union with the Lord is by the union of your will. Your will has to bow to His will.

Surrendering your will brings you to the place where God wants you to be. God will not only fill you with Himself, but He will also be glorified and revered in you (2 Thessalonians 1:10). As He reconciled everything through Christ, He will also reconcile and restore everything through you as He has given you the ministry of reconciliation (2 Corinthians 5:18).

Once the Lord came to one of His maids and placed before her two kinds of ministries, one a public ministry and another a secret ministry of prayer and intercession. He asked her to choose the ministry she wanted, assuring her that He would bless whatever she chose. The lowly maid of the Lord replied, “Lord I have no will of mine, You choose for me.”.

Do you remember the words of the old hymn, Take My life, and Let It Be, written by Frances R. Havergal?

Take my will and make it Thine,

It shall be no longer mine .......

2000 years ago a lowly virgin said, "Behold the maidservant of the Lord! Let it be to me according to your Word (Your Will)." Christ was formed IN her.

Only one will in your life - His Will!

Day 4

About this Plan

Being Drawn to God

The foremost work of the Holy Spirit through every message from the Word of God, either spoken or written, is always to draw us into a fresh union with Christ. This series of messages will draw you into oneness with Him. "The Lord has appeared of old to me, saying: "Yes, I have loved you with an everlasting love; Therefore with lovingkindness I have drawn you"." Jeremiah 31:3
