Fatherhood (Part 1)

DAY 1 OF 3

Be strong, my child!

This incident occurred several years ago when I received an urgent invitation to visit a military academy, where the students had rebelled, in hopes that I could help them.

The students have experienced it all: they were given study time and training. The principal gave me many telegrams sent by parents regarding the situation. The messages described the situations in the various homes where the students came from and their relationship with their parents.

A father sent a message to his son, "I expect you to be obedient." Another said, "If you get kicked out of school, then you don't have to go home again." Another said, "If you are sent home, then your father will send you to a mental hospital." But the best message was expressed in these brief words: “Be strong, my child. Be strong! From father."

There is a man who believes in his son and perhaps no greater influence on a child than a father who values his son's soul and treats him like a man.

No one who is not willing to endure to the end for their children’s character and education should be allowed to bring children into this world.

(Plato)

1 Corinthians 14:3

"But he who prophesies speaks edification and exhortation and comfort to men.”

Reflection:

As a father, do you trust your child that he is a child with good character? Let's encourage our children with words that build them, and not words that judge or put them down.

Day 2

About this Plan

Fatherhood (Part 1)

In the Bible, God assigns fathers to guide their children to fear the Lord and become useful. This task is not an easy task for the fathers. This reflection will help fathers to always remember the holy call from the Lord for their children.
