Love That Leads to Victory

DAY 3 OF 5

“Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.” - 1 Corinthians 13:7 ESV

Love Believes All Things and Hopes All Things

We can see now that love is not something for the weak. Love is one of the most challenging things you can do and it almost always stretches you more than you expect. It takes strength to show love and it also takes vulnerability.

Love believes the best and hopes for the best. This is not always easy, especially when it comes to people. When people hurt you, the last thing you want to do is believe in and hope for the best. Many times, you feel the opposite, but what does the Word say to do?

“‘And you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind, and with all your strength.’ This is the first commandment. And the second, like it, is this: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no other commandment greater than these.” - Mark 12:30-31 NKJV

We are to love God first, then love people; there is no greater commandment than these two. This means we are to believe the best in people and hope for the best in people. I know this is not always easy, but it is possible.

We are to love people. People are not your enemy (even though it may feel like it). In the book of Ephesians, Paul tells us who the real enemy is; it’s the devil.  You do not fight against flesh and blood (people). The enemy is who you battle and thank God that Jesus already won the battle for you.

When someone says something you disagree with, love them anyway. When someone says something that cuts you, love them anyway. I am not saying you have to be in a close relationship with them, but we can always believe the best and hope for the best for them.

Confession Today

“Today, I will choose to love! I will believe the best and hope for the best. People are not my enemy; the devil is the one who comes to steal, kill, and destroy. Even though he uses people, I will choose to see the best in them and hope for the best for them.”

Day 2Day 4

About this Plan

Love That Leads to Victory

Since God is love, you need to know what love is. Love is the most powerful force that exists, and you need to know how God describes it. Over the next 5 days, you will learn how God describes love. Love NEVER fails. God NEVER fails. Devon D. Daniel Executive Pastor at Believer's Victory Church
