DAY 4 OF 4

JESUS = GRACE

God doesn’t keep score! But unfortunately, sometimes we do. We keep track of the good and bad things we do. We think this determines how God sees us. But grace is getting something good we don’t deserve, and guess what? Grace is God’s free gift to us!

Of course, good choices are good. But it’s impossible to always do everything right. No matter how hard we try, we will make mistakes. And if our life is all about what we do right versus what we do wrong, we will never be able to make the good outweigh the bad.

Think of it this way: One bad apple spoils the whole bunch of apples. Sin has spoiled, or harmed each of us. This is why God doesn’t keep score of the good and bad things we do. Instead of punishing us when we fail, God gives us grace!

In Ephesians 2:8-10, we see that grace forgives us for our sins and gives us the ability to be grateful and trust God in all things. Grace cannot be earned, and God promises to never take it away. It’s His free gift to us through His son, Jesus. And all we have to do is accept it.

Ask yourself: Why do we need God’s grace? What can we do to accept God’s grace when we make a mistake?

Challenge yourself: God’s grace is always available to us. No matter what’s going on in our lives or how many mistakes we make, God’s grace is ALWAYS there. Because God gives us grace, we should give grace to others. Practice showing grace to those around you.

Pray: God, thank You for grace. Thank You for not measuring the good and bad things we do. Help me to show others the grace You have shown me. Amen.

At the end of this episode of “Hunt For The Golden Egg,” our friends Lisa, Sheli, and Evan talk about God's grace and how it is ALWAYS there for us. Check out this audio clip.

Day 3

About this Plan
