God’s Path to Success

DAY 2 OF 3

In the spiritual realm, success is found in fulfilling God’s purpose for your life. That’s the biblical definition of success. In our culture today, there are a number of errant descriptions of what it means to be successful. Some people assume that success is tied to how much money you have. Others base it on how high up the career ladder you have climbed. These days it might be defined by how many followers you have on social media. But the problem with all these assumptions is that they are not based on God’s standard of success.

Jesus gave us the definition of success when He said, “I glorified You on the earth, having accomplished the work which You have given Me to do” (John 17:4).

Paul said the same thing in a different way when he penned these words: “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the course, I have kept the faith” (2 Timothy 4:7).

In fact, God told Joshua that his success was entirely based on his careful meditation on the Word of God combined with aligning his decisions and actions underneath it (Joshua 1:8). Success involves fulfilling what God has called you to do.

How does it compare with God’s definition?
