A Week With the PhilippiansSample
A Philippian believer: “What does Paul mean by saying that God will meet all our needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus?
“Paul seems very sure God will keep providing for our needs (though he doesn’t say anything about our ‘wants’). I suppose he means because Jesus did everything needed, to bring us back into relationship with him, everything else in life pales in comparison to this. I suppose these are his ‘riches’.
“What does Paul mean by this: to our God and Father be glory for ever and ever? What is God’s glory like? I guess it might be like a king’s glory – his might, his authority, and his majesty. But with God, we don’t need to fear this king – he is on our side, and loves he us.”
A few thoughts for us….
- God promises to meet our needs. What does this look like in your life?
- God is always worthy of glory. He shows his glory in Jesus. He is transforming us daily, step by step into Jesus’ image, from one degree of glory to the next, as in 2 Corinthians 3:18. How amazing is this?
Prayer
Father, thank you for the way you provide for me. Please help me have a grateful heart. Help me to give you all the glory, each moment of every day.
Amen.
