The Perfect You

DAY 1 OF 9

In Search of Perfection

Can you say “I am good” without expecting a lightning bolt from Heaven to strike you down? After all, Jesus said no one is good except God (Mark 10:18). But since He said that, our world has experienced His death, His resurrection, and an invitation to a new birth first seen at Pentecost. Do these events not change whether you can now be good?

If only God is good, and you are “born of God” (1 John 5:4), then are you good? If so, to what degree? Is there still a part of you that God rejects? If God rejects sin, does He reject you? Are you partly sinful? Does some part of who you are not make it to Heaven? Can you truly be yourself here and now? These questions have to be answered.

Without hopeful answers, you end up with a message of mediocre news, or maybe something approaching decent news, but never good news. What we promise in this reading plan is great news.

Forgiveness of sins is amazing—but it’s not enough. Heaven is amazing—but it’s not enough. In the Gospel message, we see a God who is more than a banker canceling our debt. He’s more than a travel agent changing our itinerary. He’s the Great Physician infusing us with resurrection life.

God didn’t merely give you mercy and a new place to go when you die. As we’ll see, He gave you a new desire that flows from new design. With new desire and new design comes a whole new way to live.

You can live as the perfect you. And you’ll see that Christ can express Himself perfectly through you—even as you’re just being yourself—with no conflict, no disparity, no obstacle. All the parts of you are a perfect fit together with Him.

Day 2

About this Plan

The Perfect You

Do you - as a believer - have a "deceitful" and "wicked" heart? Should your heart be tested, not trusted? If that's what you believe, your spiritual experience will be one of duty and obligation. This reading plan invites you to a new way to live. You’ll be inspired by the new, beautiful heart God gave you and discover freedom and closeness with Him like you've never experienced before.
