Staying Hopeful

DAY 3 OF 10

I love reading The Message translation of the Bible. And I love The Message version of John 1:14 because it says God wants to move into the neighborhood of our wounded souls. He’s telling us, “I want to come in. I want to give you hope.” But sometimes, we don’t allow Him to move into the neighborhood. We just let Him visit.

Or sometimes we decide we would rather just visit Him instead. And so we visit Him on a Wednesday night or Sunday morning and think, “Awesome! I had my weekly Jesus time.” Friend, there is so much more to life than just a “visiting” relationship with Christ! When God completely moves into the neighborhood of your soul, your life will never look the same. Everything changes in light of His glory, His favor, His peace, His grace, His hope and His love.
