Divorce To Healing: 31 Days Of Healing And Wholeness

DAY 14 OF 31

"Feelings"

How do you feel right now? Did you just wake up and not had your coffee yet? Is it the end of your day and you are wondering how you can continue just one more day? Have you reached for this page to validate your feelings?

During these 31 days, you will probably experience more variations of feelings than you ever knew you could feel. This is normal and expected. Divorce is not something you are ever expecting or planning to happen. And it will be ok.

God gave us emotions and feelings so that we can function here on earth. Without them, we are just robots moving day by day without any way to truly be human. Jesus had feelings, greatest of that was love for His Father and for you!!

Don’t beat yourself up because you feel a certain way. Just know that it is ok and you can use every feeling as a chance to have a deeper relationship with Jesus. Tell Him know how you feel. He will help you use it to grow towards becoming complete and whole.

The Psalms are filled with verses about David’s feeling towards his enemies and his situations. He also had deep feelings towards God, sometimes praise and sometimes total despair. You are not alone in that.

Feelings are there to help bring understanding, protect, and guidance, yet they are not meant to control us. Let them help you draw closer to Jesus daily.

Prayer
God, no matter how I feel I choose to allow you to guide and direct me by Your Holy Spirit instead of allowing my feelings to control me, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
