The Missing Link: From Belief to FaithSample
Day 2: Agreement
There is power in coming into an agreement with something. It opens up the channels for blessings, abundance, and God’s will to flow. Coming into agreement with God also positions you to build your faith. Most believers enter the Kingdom of God by believing. However, over time you may begin to notice that some believers have not grown in their faith over the years. You may have even felt this way from time to time.
Perhaps, you feel that you should be further along and stronger in your faith. Maybe, like me, you have had days where you were disappointed that you allowed doubt and fear to consume you. After all, we do believe in God, right? I know some of you may be thinking, "Well, what happened in my case? Because I was believing for what I asked for."
The answer is simple—agreement!
Let me say it less plainly! The thing that was missing after you believed was coming into agreement with God. It is literally agreeing with God's word and what He said, despite your feelings or circumstances that brings life into your situation.
It is giving God your yes.
Coming into agreement opens you up for more blessings and promises to flow into your life. This is wonderful to note but easily missed because we may not have even realized that we have chosen to disagree with God when we worry, overwork, and try to make things happen on our own. We have unintentionally come into an agreement that what God has spoke over us may not happen.
When I think of agreement, I am reminded of the clothes in my closet. Years ago, I discovered that God is always trying to fulfill His promises through me, as well as others, and desires to bless our lives and situations to the degree that is most beneficial for us and His Kingdom. There are times when my closet has too many clothes in it. Some shirts that I love, and others that I barely wear. A closet that is full of shirts, coats, sweaters, and pants that are literally taking up space. So every three to four months I purge my clothes and give them away and if it applies, throw them away. When I first felt led to purge my closet I would hesitate by holding onto certain shirts or pants. I would justify it to myself by saying, "Oh I need to hold on to that one because I can workout in it, or I don't want to be that low in my shirt selection. What I didn't realize is that I chose to come into agreement with disbelief—disbelief that my closet would remain empty.
As I let go of what I felt I needed to hold on to and came into agreement with God, it automatically set up my life, or my closet, to receive more blessings, more of the things that God was trying to give me. the entire time.
As for faith, we have to come into agreement with what we believe. This purges our doubt, giving our faith an opportunity to grow, flourish, and be replenished, according to God’s will. Believe, then agree with God.
In our next devotion, we will dive deeper into Faith.

About this Plan
When we consider the concept of believing God, on the surface it sounds pretty simple. Just believe, right? If we are honest though, believing is the start, but there are some prayers that seem to be deferred in getting answered. In this devotional we will discuss the pathway from belief to faith.
