Raising Kingdom Builders Sample
2) Who God Is
As we touched on yesterday, we can expect our children to be exposed to this world. So how do we prepare them to still pursue the righteous things in life? The first step is learning about who God is. And who better to teach them than their parents? There are lots of Bible verses that talk about God’s love, but the easiest to teach children is most commonly John 3:16. This verse can be broken into 3 easy sections of teaching for your children.
First, God loved the world! This is where you talk to them about sin, how it has infected us all and tries to move us further and further away from God, but because He loved the world so much, including your children…
Second, He sent His one and only Son. This is a great opportunity to use an analogy of some kind to allow your children to understand what it would feel like to give up something you love. That’s what God did. He sent Jesus to earth! But why?
Third, God sent Jesus so that if we believe in Him, we will live with Him forever in heaven! Now that your children know how much God loves them, you have an opportunity to pray the sinner’s prayer with them so they can be saved by Jesus too!
After praying this prayer, the foundation is now laid in their life. They know who God is, how much He loves them, and that they accept Him, they will spend forever with Him. It’s time to focus on the right now, so buckle up! It’s time to learn how to raise Kingdom builders!
