SOAP – Ecclesiastes 7:19-20; Solomon states that a wise man understands the sinfulness of man and his own sinfulness. He understands that there are none righteous. There has never been a truly righteous man apart from Jesus Christ. For the believer, our wisdom comes from God and His Word, while our righteousness is a gift given to us through faith in Jesus to all who believe. Without the acknowledgement of our sin, we would not realize our need for a Savior. It is when we see our need for Jesus Christ, that we can then accept His glorious gift of salvation. Through God’s gift of Jesus Christ, we are freed of the penalty of sin, freed of the power of sin, and eventually in Heaven, freed from the presence of sin.
